The Stanley Burnshaw Papers contain 76 items, namely 54 letters and cards from Dickey to Burnshaw, 1963-1987, and carbons of 22 letters from Burnshaw to Dickey, 1964-1982. The following collections also contain letters from Dickey: Edward Dahlberg (2 items, 1965), John Lehmann (2 items, 1956-1973; and 1 letter to Dickey, 1956), Robie Macauley (2 items, 1969), Anne Sexton (6 items, 1965-1966; and 7 letters to Dickey, 1965-1966). Additionally, the Gotham Book Mart Archive contains an undated form letter from the co-editor of MUTINY, Jane Esty, supporting Dickey's review of Allen Ginsberg and other Beat poets which appeared in the 9 Jul. 1961 NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW. Attached is one sheet containing reproductions of Dickey's review, his 1 Aug. 1961 response to Esty, letters from Esty and co-editor Paul Lett to Francis Brown (editor, NYTBR), Brown's reply, and published letters to the editor by John J. Gill and Selden Rodman. Books by Dickey cataloged with the Center's book holdings include several inscribed volumes, which were acquired with the libraries of Stanley Burnshaw and Anne Sexton.
